Welcome

I am a DPhil candidate in Economics at the University of Oxford, Nuffield College interested in Industrial Organisation and Microeconomic Theory.

My current focus lies in investigating the impact of food retail policies such as price controls and retail taxes in an inflationary setting, while also considering how differences in market concentration can influence the outcomes of such policies. I consider the political economy aspect of lowering prices on basic food products and also how pricing conduct might change after the introduction and discontinuation of such policies.

I am utilizing a consumer panel dataset to analyze the effects of price controls on staple food items that were implemented in Hungary starting in February 2022 just weeks before the War on Ukraine broke out in a neighbouring country.

During my MPhil (distinction), my research focus was microeconomic theory (observational learning). Before that, I studied BA (Hons) Economics and Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, Trinity College.
